Today my work comes from my deep appreciation of those who have worked, lived and loved many years in experiencing life’s light and special moments. I work from personal experience, photographs, trips, and perhaps most importantly, feelings and emotions that are gathered through visits and conversations with those who have special moments or places they wish to capture on canvas. Most of these subjects contain old places, buildings, items, events that usually represent the often hard work and efforts of people who have gone before to provide the present with rich and cherished memories. Current work is often taken from old, black and white, sometimes-damaged photographs of building and places that only exist in the minds of those who experienced and appreciate them. My goal in each painting is to bring out and show the true life, feelings and emotions associated with these special places or events.

Originally from the Midwest, Marti studied Commercial Art at Northeast Missouri State. Her emphasis is on color and her interpretation of nature in color. She has painted and been involved in the arts all her life and through the years between college and raising a family, she has continued her interests by attending workshops, seminars and art classes. Leaving the "angst and "agony" of the art world in the 60's and 70's she made a decision, early on, to paint the beauty that surrounds our every day life. In the early 90's she began showing her work in area competitions and won numerous awards and taken many first place rankings while competing in the "Professional" categories. Her work has been chosen three times to be featured in the national publication "Art Business News" in their "Editions" section and in 2005 her work was chosen to be one of only 100 artists from around the world featured in the book, "New Art International 2004-2005" which is available in bookstores nationwide. Gallery representation is "Courpralux" gallery in Dallas, Texas, "South Street Gallery" in Easton, Maryland and "Bowie Framing and Art" in Fort Worth, Texas. Kathryn Dalziel - A British artist using the traditional techniques and methods that stem directly from the leading Parisian ateliers of the nineteenth century.
Having studied Fine Art in England, at firstly Bournemouth College of Art and then Southampton, Kathryn graduated and won two National
Design awards.
An attraction with the methods of the old masters led her to Florence, Italy, where she studied at the Charles Cecil Studio.
The School enjoys a considerable reputation for the unique training it provides in the classical techniques of drawing and painting and she now devotes much of her time to naturalistic portraiture and figure painting.
