Tom has been seriously
sculpting since 1971. When the time spent at his "day job" as Vice
President of an oil drilling company began to cut into the time he spent
creating his art, he quit the oil business and decided to devote himself
full-time to sculpting and painting. Much of Tom's inspiration comes from the
works of such writers and artists as Will James, J. Frank Dobie and George
Phippen. Tom is greatly respected by his many collectors for his realistic and
authentic depictions of his subjects, which are sculpted to preserve the legacy
of the old West and to depict the beauty of nature. After owning a small Arabian
horse farm just north of Houston, Tom and his wife, Gail, moved to Taos, New
Mexico for three years. They currently make their home in the beautiful Texas
Hill Country, along with their three dachshunds and a tabby cat.
Tom's sculptures and paintings can be found in collections throughout the United
States and as far away as the Far East and Europe. Collectors include successful
people from many walks of life, including actors, governors, and legendary
oilmen. Tom's artwork is normally purchased by his collectors for their personal
enjoyment, however, certain pieces have been resold on the secondary market for
as much as seven times their original purchase price. |
