Ulrich Pakker
Signature - Member

 " Stainless Steel and Bronze, 12 ft x 8 ft x 20 ft high
Installed in front of the Everett Events Center
Everett, Washington February 2004"

Web Site                    U.S.A

Ulrich Pakker isn't satisfied with an art piece until it resonates with his perfectionism. Then he finally gets a wide smile on his face, signaling that the finished work before him matches the vision in his mind. Only then is the piece considered complete. Only then will his name go on
it.  It's the joining of inspiration and craft. Very few can do it like Ulrich, but then very few have his meticulous attention to detail and the requisite skills to execute such stunning pieces of the art of metalcraft. A note of caution — the picture you see here, though true to the work, are but a glimmer of the impact of Ulrich's art when it is before you.

Dawn Weimer

Web Site    U.S.A

We live in a synthetic, simulated, resin plastic, throw-away world. With a throw away mentality
comes shoddy workmanship, half-truths, and inferior products. When everything from Rolex
watches to Gucci handbags are being counterfeited, it isn't surprising to discover the same in sculpture. Unfortunately, there are those who seek to imitate to "cash in" on the success of others.

How can you be sure of purchasing an original lost wax bronze sculpture? Greatest confidence comes through direct contact with the sculptor, look for their web site, e-mail them or give them a call, ask questions. If you are viewing the actual sculpture, look for markers on the sculpture: the artist's signature, the edition number of the specific piece, as well as the total edition number produced and the copyright symbol ©.

Serious, professional lost wax bronze sculptors will have those markers on their work. It is unlikely the poor quality imitations will carry these markers. Be aware while shopping or surfing the web...if you see poor quality bargain priced "solid bronzes" in the same showroom or web site as higher
quality, high priced lost wax bronze sculpture, this should be a red flag that the proprietor and/or sculptor is willing to compromise quality for quantity.

Quality will always shine through authentic lost wax bronze sculpture. It will be heavy, usually hollow, and almost virtually indestructible. Raw bronze is in the form of ingots (like gold). It is extremely hard and must be melted to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit to be poured for a sculpture. It cannot be ground up or pulverized. It is heated with a torch to 400 degrees to apply patina (coloration process). It is unlike pewter, resin (plastic) or the so-called "solid bronze" (metal powder together with a
polymer resin), all of which could be melted on your kitchen stove! For example, a lost wax bronze sculpture by J. Seward Johnson, Jr. of a seated business man with briefcase made it through the intense World Trade Center disaster.

All it will need to be beautiful again is a little sandblasting, a new patina and a new base upon which it can again sit upright. Nothing can compare to lost wax bronze for enduring beauty, durability and increasing value.

Dawn Weimer Studios offers only lost wax bronze sculpture cast with the utmost care and integrity at foundries in Loveland, Colorado, ("Sculptureville,USA!"). As my sculptures sell out, a letter is sent to every collector who owns the specific sculpture stating the bronze piece is sold out and the mold has been destroyed. Enclosed with the letter is a small piece cut from my original mold which further verifies it will not be produced again. Should you ever come across a sculpture you feel is
suspicious of being a imitation of one of my pieces, please contact me so I can look into the matter of possible violation of copyright.

One of the major reasons Tom & I offer my lost wax bronze sculpture primarily through my studios and web site is to protect my work as well as my collectors. By purchasing directly through the sculptor you have total assurance you have purchased an authentic Dawn Weimer Bronze Sculpture. I personally keep stringent records in my computer database of when and where each bronze is sold along with purchaser names and addresses. Quality lost wax bronze sculpture is my standard and will
remain my standard. That's my commitment!

Stephen H. Parry Jr.

Website     United States

Stephen H. Parry, Jr., the owner and primary artist behind Allord’s Hand Studios, has an interestingly varied background. Formally educated in Foreign Affairs and Economics, he also holds a Masters degree in Hospital Administration. Following a 30-year career that included a commission as a Ranger-qualified airborne infantry officer in the U.S. Army, holding a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for Valor, he then left the service for a lengthy stint as a corporate executive. He has worked in various parts of the world, includung 12 years in England with two Fortune 500 corporations and most recently in the U.S. with a major medical center in the Philadelphia area. Mr. Parry has been sculpting for a number of years. Entirely self taught, he has clearly demonstrated a significant talent and a remarkable eye for detail, proportion, imagination and style. Apart from sculpture, Mr. Parry’s talent extends into the full restoration of fine antiques and pianos. He doesn’t consider himself unique or special within his family and points out that written family genealogical records indicate that the “artistic genie” has been known to be hanging around the family tree since it took root in Wales in the 13th century, producing artists, writers and musicians. True up through the present generation, this trait includes his eldest son, a promising young musician and graphic artist, and son number two, a gifted writer. A staunch and active force in Allord’s Hand Studios, Mr. Parry’s mother is a significant artist in her own right, having been associated with the Disney Studios as a young woman and involved in the creation of the first full-length animated film, the original Fantasia.
