Martin Acoustic Guitars
|
C.
F. Martin began producing acoustic guitars in Germany in 1833.
Eventually he
moved to the United States, and settled in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
To this day
the Martin guitar company is still controlled by a family member Chris Martin
IV, who is the CEO and chairman.
Martin's acoustic guitars rapidly earned a
reputation as an excellence instrument. Martin's innovative x- design bracing
enhanced the resonance, and strengthened the guitar’s top, protecting it from
warping.
Martin acoustic guitars are still made by hand using skilled artisans.
Every Martin acoustic guitar is a one of a kind piece of art.
The list of
guitarists that play or have played Martin acoustic guitars is endless.
Bluegrass and folk guitarist especially prize Martin acoustic guitars.
Martin
created an acoustic guitar with a large body called the dreadnought. The
dreadnought with its larger body projects more sound than the standard acoustic
guitar. Martin acoustic guitars continue to be the favorite of a lot of
guitarists today. Used Martin acoustic guitars are highly sought after for their
excellent quality, sound, and toughness.
