Takamine
Acoustic Guitars
|
The
Takamine acoustic guitar company is located in Sakashita, Japan. Takamine has
been producing acoustic guitars for more than forty years, and have always been
devoted to incorporating new innovations and improvements to the making of
guitars.
Takamine started out as a small family run business, today they have
become one of the worlds leading guitar manufacturers throughout the world.
Some
of the most well know acoustic guitar players in the music industry play
Takamine acoustic guitars.
So why do so many musicians prefer Takamine acoustic guitars? The reason is that
Takamine is always making technical improvements to their guitars that have gone
well beyond other guitar manufactures. Takamine is well known for their
commitment to the art of guitar making.
Takamine began producing acoustic
guitars in the early sixties while playing the guitar in Japan was growing in
popularity. As their company grew larger they realized that they would have to
improve upon their skills and hire a more talented design and manufacturing
teem.
The first and one of the most significant additions to the company was
when they hired Mr. Mass Hirade. Mr. Mass Hirade began working at Takamine in
1968. He made a lot design improvements and began producing better quality
acoustic guitars. Takamine started to manufacture first class "Classical Guitars" that still bare his name.
In 1975 Takamine began trading overseas.
For the first time Takamine Acoustic Guitars were made available to guitar
players around the world.
In
the 1920's the dreadnought body was designed and created, because musicians
wanted a louder more powerful sound. Ever since then the dreadnought has become
one of the most popular shape for an acoustic guitar. The dreadnought's design
with its larger resonant chamber emphasizes the bass response and has a lot more
volume and power. The dreadnought's design is great for ensemble playing and is
the favorite of flat pick guitar players.
