Although Washburn acoustic
guitars do not have the same status as Fender or Gibson they have been in
business since 1883 and produce quality acoustic guitars.
In the 1920's
Washburn guitars were the number one guitars amongst African-Americans. Washburn
was located in the Mississippi Delta home of the Delta; Blues this is where the
Delta Blues all began.
When the guitar industry began to grow Washburn became
the major producer of guitars for those that were into playing the blues.
The
Washburn Company produces a full line of acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and
bass guitars. They also produce mandolins, amplifiers, and banjos. Washburn
offers a wide selection of acoustic guitars. These consist of the Jumbo Acoustic
guitars which characteristically have a large sounding lower end and offer more
volume, USA Acoustic guitars which can cost up to $2400, Folk guitars, that are
outstanding for recording and include solid spruce tops, the Dreadnought series,
that are all made out of first-class woods and materials, classical acoustic
guitars the oldest acoustic guitars that Washburn manufactures, and some good
quality travel guitars that range in price from roughly $100 to $500, the NV
guitars for professional guitarist that cost as much as $1000 and over.

Atkins, Stephen Cochran, Quin Allman, and many others.
