Exploring and creating with my sizeable collection of beads feels like a private indulgence. Each time I design, different beads, stones and findings reach out to me and show me what they were meant to become. I put together unexpected combinations
of colors, textures and rhythms in my designs, redesigning a piece as many as a
dozen times until it feels right to me. My work incorporates vintage glass
beads, vintage Swarovski crystals, one-of-a-kind lampwork and fused glass
components, especially those including dichroic glass, and semiprecious stones
and beads. These materials are rare or one-of-a-kind, like my jewelry designs. |

Kathy has been involved in art in many
different forms since childhood, from drawing and painting to graphic design.
“When I discovered the world of gemstones, I knew I had found my passion. It
still amazes me that these beautiful colors and textures come from the earth. I
love combining them in striking combinations with Bali silver and vermeil, as
well as fine Hilltribe silver. I am inspired by the stones themselves, as well
as ancient cultures and mythology.” |
